The goal of adult speech therapy is to improve oral-motor skills for speech and swallowing, language, verbal fluency, voice, and cognitive-linguistic skills by:

  • Improving communication
  • Enhancing cognitive skills
  • Enhancing receptive and expressive language skills
  • Improving swallowing

The goal of adult occupational therapy is to improve function and independence in activities of daily living (ADLs), including self-care and community activities by:

  • Improving independence in activities of daily living
  • Improving instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs)
  • Enhancing gross and fine motor skills
  • Improving core and upper extremity strength and flexibility
